Music Ministry

We, the St Francis of Assisi Music Ministry, invite all and any parishioner to join us in singing for the Glory of God.  We sing from our hearts — we sing as a ministry to enhance our communal worship.  Singers DO NOT need to read music; any instrumentalist will also always be welcome.

Singing at Mass carries on the ancient Hebrew tradition of the Psalms.   The Psalms in our Bible are songs designed to be sung either by a soloist, by designated singers, or by the whole community. The Psalms are hymns of thanksgiving, praise, or supplication.  This is the aim of music at St Francis; to enhance and focus the community’s worship through these same hymns of thanksgiving, praise, and supplication.

We, the St Francis of Assisi Music Ministry, invite all and any parishioner to join our ministry.  Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 1 hour before Mass. One of these rehearsal times is mandatory, but occasional need to absent oneself is understandable.  Our rehearsals are times to sing joyfully, to deepen our commitment to God, to strengthen friendships.
