Music Ministry

God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song.  Music is a way for God to lead us to the realm of higher things. The primary role of music in the liturgy is to help the members of the gathered assembly to join themselves with the action of Christ and to give voice to the gift of faith. The Music Ministry of St. Francis strives to lead and inspire our parish family to praise God with our instruments and voices at weekend liturgies and other parish services through-out the year.  Please come and share your faith in song and prayer. Your parish needs you! Ability to read music is not necessary, but a desire to share your faith, and an ability to "carry a tune" (even in a bucket) is all that is needed.

St. Francis Choir News

To sing for God’s glory is a most wonderful experience – you are singing for the glory of God, and are part of a wonderful group of dedicated people who are working together to present musical offerings each week for the weekend Masses.

The Church’s rich musical heritage is greater than you can imagine.  Consider joining us as we seek to do what the Church has been doing for centuries, trying to create a truly reverent atmosphere, musically, where people can come and leave the world for an hour each week, and open their minds and hearts to God.

You do not have to have a trained voice. You do have to come and rehearse, but this is in itself a rewarding and very positive activity.  Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.  Please consider at least trying it out.

In preparation for the changes in the Revised Roman Missal, we will be learning new arrangements for the Propers of the Mass.  This is an exciting time in the life of the Church.  Join us and share this experience with us each week.  You will not regret it.  Your life will be blessed with beautiful music!
